Strategies[]
The Defensive Tortoise is a pure tanking unit: he can't attack at all, and will instead retreat inside his shell to defend from incoming attacks. He's immune to pushback, meaning it can shrug most attacks without retreating. However, he can get knocked back if taking a lot of damage in a short period of time.
It should be noted that if used to battle a Rock Monster or a Pumpkin Monster, Tortoise will die very fast. For that, it's useful to have at least two active Tortoises while summoning a more powerful units to back him up.
Despite being useful in the mid stages of the game, the later upgrades do not provide him enough HP to withstand damage from late-game enemies. He is, however, very useful to farm EXP and gold at Zombie King and Mummy King stages.
